Elena Guliyeva, HR Management Department Manager at Global Media Group, who attended the meeting, encouraged the students to continue improving their knowledge and skills:
“Every student who successfully graduates from the Report Media School is given the opportunity to gain additional experience at the websites of the holding. Just recently, we invited several graduates from previous groups who had demonstrated their skills to interviews for a new vacancy. I wish each of you success on your path toward employment.”
Head of the Report Media School Ismayil Rafigoglu shared his views on the training process:
“We tried to attract as many students as possible to the summer group, as scheduling can be more difficult during other periods. The group mainly consisted of students from the Faculty of Journalism of Baku State University.
Several new initiatives were also introduced in the 21st group of the Report Media School. During the training, we completed numerous assignments and held a number of interesting activities. Our main goal was to develop news-writing skills and strengthen students’ news judgment.”
Rafigoglu also noted that a number of additional training sessions and meetings were held during the educational process:
“Meetings were held between the students and several leading journalists of Report. Interesting training sessions were conducted with the participation of Editor-in-Chief Namig Mailov, Deputy Editor-in-Chief Emil Guliyev, Digital Marketing Manager Javid Osmanov, Sports Editor Kenan Hasanov, Domestic Policy Editor Elgun Mansimov, Head of the Multimedia Department and digital marketing specialist Ilkin Ahmadov.
Meetings were also held with such well-known figures as journalist, education expert and digital media and advertising strategy specialist Mursal Aliyev; writer-publicist and journalist Nihat Pir; founder of Bizimyol.info, writer, publicist and journalist Bahaddin Hazi; Member of the Milli Majlis, politician and journalist Elchin Mirzabayli; Reuters correspondent and representative in Azerbaijan, founder of Anews.az and journalist Nailya Balayeva; editor-in-chief of the magazine *Ulduz*, journalist, writer and poet Gulu Aghses; and Head of the Public Relations Department at Unibank, PR specialist and journalist Sulhiyya Shirinova.”
The Head of the Report Media School also spoke about recent developments and innovations in the educational process:
“Technological progress today forces us to abandon old methods that no longer work and adopt new solutions. The development of social media platforms, artificial intelligence and changes in search engines are taking journalism in a new direction. Under these circumstances, a number of traditional approaches are no longer effective. Adaptation to the new information environment is essential.”
