Global Media Group and the UN Global Compact organize "Sustainability Language for Media" training

On November 14, 2024, within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the UN Global Compact, Global Media Group organized a training session titled "Sustainability Language for Media." Held in the Green Zone of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), the training aimed to ensure Global Media Group's active participation in international sustainability platforms and to support media representatives in creating impactful content regarding climate change and environmental protection.

The keynote speaker, Wynne Boelt, Head of Communications at the UN Global Compact, shared international expertise with the employees of the media entities under Global Media Group: "Media plays a vital role in raising public awareness and driving collective action for a sustainable future. The steps and commitments taken by Global Media Group in this direction are significant not only for Azerbaijan but also for achieving global sustainability goals."

Elnur Abdullayev, Chairman of the Board of Global Media Group, stated that the partnership with the UN Global Compact is a crucial step for the sustainable development of both the company and its subsidiaries: "This training reaffirms Global Media Group’s commitment to sustainable development and demonstrates its determination to play an active role for a green future at both national and international levels."

As a reminder, on October 9 of this year, Global Media Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the UN Global Compact to jointly promote sustainable business practices and the 10 principles of the UN Global Compact within society.
