Global Media Group and Report News Agency Present the Documentary "Homeland Stone"

Ahead of the anniversary of the Patriotic War and the anti-terrorist measures, Global Media Group and Report News Agency have presented the documentary "Homeland Stone" ("Vətən daşı") to the public. The film is dedicated to the life of Lieutenant Colonel Akram Shadmanov, who was martyred during the anti-terrorist measures, and his family.

The life story of a fallen officer and his family

At the heart of the documentary is the story of Lieutenant Colonel Akram Shadmanov, Chief of Staff of Azerbaijan's first commando military unit, and his family. After the occupation of the Kalbajar district by Armenia, the Shadmanov family was forced into the life of internally displaced persons. Despite the hardships, they never lost hope of returning to their native land.

Two officers raised with love for the Homeland

Driven by the goal of liberating the country's lands from occupation, two professional military officers grew up in the family. During the 44-day Patriotic War and the anti-terrorist measures, the Shadmanov brothers fought heroically and took an active part in the liberation of a number of districts and villages. For their courage, both officers were awarded orders and medals by decrees of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.

On September 24, 2023, while visiting positions liberated from the enemy, Lieutenant Colonel Akram Shadmanov was martyred in the explosion of an anti-tank mine.

A chronicle of heroism on screen

Through the life story of the Shadmanov family, "Homeland Stone" brings to the screen the chronicle of heroism written by the people of Azerbaijan. The film reflects love for the Homeland, the joy of Victory and the determination to rebuild the liberated lands.

Premiere ceremony

The premiere ceremony was held at the Nizami Cinema Center. It was attended by government officials, military personnel, members of parliament, families of martyrs, veterans and members of the public.
