Haber Global, a television channel within Global Media Group, received five awards across different categories at the 28th Zoom International News Competition held in Ankara on November 21, 2025, held under the theme “Gaza Through the Lens of the Camera.”
The channel stood out for its coverage of the events that took place in Syria on December 8, 2024, winning awards in the drone and live broadcast categories.
Haber Global’s Intelligence Chief- News Reporter Mücahit Topçu and cameraman Serdar Altıntepe were awarded in the drone category for their coverage of the events in Syria.
At the same time, the channel’s correspondent Mehmet Altunışık and cameraman Çağrı Çalışkan received an award in the live broadcast category for their coverage titled “Return Home,” which focused on Syrians returning to their homes after many years.
In addition, Haber Global’s correspondent Yunus Emre Şahbenderoğlu received a special award for his report titled “The First Prayer at the Umayyad Mosque.”
